At least 11 people were killed and 6 seriously injured after electrocution occurred during a temple festival at Kalaimedu in the Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu.

Thanjavur (Tamil Nadu): At least 11 people were killed and 6 seriously injured after electrocution occurred during a temple festival at Kalaimedu in the Thanjavur district of Tamil Nadu.


The accident took place when the temple car came in contact with the overhead electricity wires, resulting in the death of 11 people. Six people have been seriously injured in this incident.


The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and district officials rushed to the spot for emergency services.


The chariot was taking a turn, but it faced some obstacles. It was then being reversed when it came in contact with the overhead line.


According to news agency PTI, three people who were injured have been admitted to Thanjavur Medical College.
