New Delhi: Major decisions have been taken in the Union Cabinet meeting. The government has approved the Minimum Support Price (MSP ) on Kharif crops for the market session 2021-22.
Giving this information on Wednesday, the central government said that the highest increase in MSP has been made on sesame crop (Rs 452 per quintal) compared to last year. The MSP on tur and urad (both Rs 300 per quintal) has also been increased.
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that in the meeting of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, it has been decided to declare MSP of Kharif crops. The price of paddy which is of normal level was Rs 1868 per quintal, in 2021-22 it has become Rs 1940 per quintal. Bajra which was Rs 2150 per quintal in 2020-21 has now become Rs 2250 per quintal.
While giving information about these decisions, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that MSP has been declared before Kharif season and it has also been increased. In order to make railway traffic more secure, 4G spectrum has been allocated more to the railways.
Till now railways used to use 2G spectrum. Not only this, the system of automatic train protection is now being strengthened very much in the railways. Four Indian companies have made the system that has been made so that there is no collision of two vehicles.
Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar tweeted that the Modi government is committed to doubling the income of farmers. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the Minimum Support Price for all Kharif crops for the Kharif marketing season 2021-22. Crores of farmers of the country will get the benefit of the government's decision.
The Union Agriculture Minister said that in the last seven years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, many such decisions were taken one after the other in the field of agriculture, which would increase the income of the farmer, attract the farmer towards expensive crops, bring prosperity to the farmer's house. And farming became a profitable deal.
This is a revolutionary decision of the government to fix the MSP at the level of 1.5 times the cost of production (or at least 50 percent profit on the cost of production).
Giving an indirect message to the farmers' organizations opposing the agricultural laws, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that MSP is there and MSP will remain so. The MSP of Rabi and Kharif is also being declared continuously. MSP is going up, MSP is increasing and buying at MSP is also increasing.
Giving information about another decision of the Union Government, the Agriculture Minister said that in order to deal with the increase in the international prices of Phosphatic Fertilizers, the Central Government has taken a historic step by increasing the subsidy on these fertilizers.
"The central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi is fully committed towards the interests of farmers. Therefore, despite the increase in international prices, farmers will get a bag of DAP fertilizer for Rs 1200 instead of Rs 2400," he said.
