They were accompanied by Congress MLAs and other party leaders including Punjab Deputy Chief Minister OP Soni. During this, the poetic style of CM Channi was also on full display and he assured the people that he will try to create a better Punjab.

When Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi left Shri Ram Teerth, he stopped at Giani Tea Stall on Cooper Road at the behest of Navjot Singh Sidhu. Sitting on a roadside stool, he enjoyed tea, kachoris and sandwiches with Sidhu Om Prakash Soni and Sukhbinder Singh Sukhsarkaria.
When people congratulated him on becoming the Punjab CM, he responded in a poetic style.
"Wake up from sleep, we will show you new dreams," he said.
When Navjot Singh Sidhu handed over a glass of tea to Punjab CM Channi, he drank a sip and then ordered a bowl and started drinking tea by pouring the hot liquid inside it. Sidhu and Channi also liked the kachoris served at the stall.
Both leaders also interacted with the people present there and promised them development. Channi assured the people that the sole aim and resolve of the new government of Punjab is to do good for the common people.
During this, Congress MLAs and leaders including Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi, Punjab Congress President Navjat Singh Sidhu and Deputy Chief Minister OP Soni appeared very excited. The Chief Ministers of Punjab, Channi and Sidhu said that this government is the government of all classes and sects. He said that now the doors of government and administration will be open for all. Common people will not have to wander for their work.
