Amit Kumar, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is meeting with Chief Ministers on Tuesday due to the worsening coronavirus pandemic in the country. 


The meeting will be held through video conference. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also present in this meeting. 


The Chief Ministers of eight states are involved in the first meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These include Kerala, West Bengal, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.


After this meeting, the Prime Minister and the Chief Ministers will hold another meeting which will also include senior officials of the states. Not only this, he will also discuss the scheme to be followed for the delivery of the coronavirus vaccine. 



According to sources, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will also attend this meeting. PM Modi had held a meeting regarding this issue earlier as well.


It is being said that a review of the present situation of the coronavirus pandemic and the strategy of distribution of the coronavirus vaccine may also be discussed in the meeting. 


According to sources, in the second meeting, PM Modi will also discuss the distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine with the Chief Ministers.


Coronavirus infection cases across the country have been falling below 50,000 over the last few days, while in some states COVID-19 cases have increased rapidly. Night curfew has also been imposed in some cities. Constant efforts are also being made by the Center to arrange for smooth distribution of the coronavirus vaccine whenever it is available.
