New Delhi: The Union Cabinet met on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Union Minister Anurag Thakur and Union Minister Piyush Goyal informed the media about the decisions taken at this meeting on Wednesday.

They said that decisions have been taken on many important issues in the cabinet meeting. The government has approved to double the Neemuch-Ratlam line in Madhya Pradesh which is still a single line. This 133 km line will cost around Rs 196 crore.


Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that approval has also been given to convert the Rajkot-Canalus line in Gujarat into a double line. An investment of Rs 1080 crore will be made on this 111 km long line.

The construction of these two lines will give impetus to the industries. It has been ensured that the work of doubling these two railway lines will be completed in three years.


This was the fourth meeting of the Union Cabinet after the reshuffle in the cabinet on July 7. According to reports, the meeting reviewed the functioning of various ministries.
