Kundan Singh, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted 8 new trains to the country today. PM Modi flagged off eight trains connecting the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat, through video conferencing.


Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal were also present on the occasion. These trains will connect Kevadia (Statue of Unity) to Varanasi, Dadar, Ahmedabad, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Rewa, Chennai and Pratapnagar. This is probably the first time in the history of Indian Railways when together so many trains have been flagged for the same place from different corners of the country.


During this ceremony organized through video conferencing, Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated Dabhoi-Chanchod gauge conversion, Chanodod-Kevadia gauge conversion, electrification of newly constructed Pratapnagar-Kevadia block and new buildings of Dabhoi, Chanchod and Kevadia stations. On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that this is probably the first time in the history of railways when so many trains have been shown a green flag for the same place from different corners of the country.


PM Modi paid tribute to the late former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MG Ramachandran on his birth anniversary.


Kevadia railway station has been equipped with new facilities. It is the country's first green building certificate railway station. With the addition of the Statue of Unity to eight cities, there will be a lot of convenience for the tourists of the country to come here, while the revenue of the state is also likely to increase significantly. With this plan, the world's largest statue Statue of Unity will also find a place on the map of Indian Railways. Also, Kevadia rail link will also boost tourism in the state. Let us tell you that till now, tourists had to reach Vadodara, Bharuch and Ankleshwar railway stations to visit the Statue of Unity.
