New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday comprehensively reviewed the situation related to Covid-19 in the country.
During this, PM Modi was told about the 12 states which have more than 1 lakh active coronavirus cases. The PM was also apprised of the districts with high Covid-19 disease load.
The PM was informed about the health facilities infrastructure by the states. The PM directed that states should be given assistance and guidance regarding key indicators to improve the health services infrastructure. The need to ensure coronavirus prevention measures was also discussed during this period.
During this time PM Modi said that an advisory was sent to the states to identify the districts of concern where the case positivity is 10% or more and the bed occupancy on oxygen supported or ICU beds is more than 60%. The PM also reviewed the availability of the drugs. He was informed about the rapid increase in production of drugs including Remedisvir.
The PM reviewed the progress of vaccination and roadmap to increase production on vaccines over the next few months. He was informed that about 17.7 crore vaccines have been supplied to the states. The PM also reviewed state-wise trends on vaccine wastage.
The PM was told that at least one dose has been given to about 31% of the eligible persons above the age of 45 years. During this, PM Modi said that the pace of vaccination has not decreased. Citizens should be facilitated for vaccination despite lockdown and health workers involved in vaccination should not be diverted to other duties.
