PM Modi asks Yogi Adityanath to ensure best medical care for ailing Kalyan Singh

Singh was shifted to the Sanjay Gandhi Post graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), late on Sunday evening, after his condition took a turn for the worse. He was shifted from the Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), where he was in ICU since Saturday.

Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday dialed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to ensure that the best medical care was being provided to ailing Kalyan Singh. The Prime Minister also held a conversation with former chief minister's son Rajveer on Monday to enquire about his health.

"Prime Minister PM Narendra Modi called former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh's son Rajveer to inquire about his health. He also called up Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to ensure that best possible medical care is made available to the former UP Chief Minister," sources told ANI. 


Singh was shifted to the Sanjay Gandhi Post graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), late on Sunday evening, after his condition took a turn for the worse. He was shifted from the Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), where he was in ICU since Saturday.


"Kalyan Singh had been feeling unwell for almost two weeks. His blood pressure and pulse rate are normal but he is not fully conscious. Keeping in mind his many existing ailments, he has been kept in the Intensive Care Unit of Critical Care Medicine," Sanjay Gandhi PGI said in a statement on Sunday. 


In a statement, the institute said that a panel of experts, from the nephrology, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology and neuro-otology departments, had been formed to attend to Kalyan Singh.


"On his arrival here, his blood pressure and heartbeats were found normal, but his level of consciousness was a bit low. Keeping in mind his earlier ailments, he has been admitted to the ICU of the CCM," the statement said.


Meanwhile, union defence minister Rajnath Singh, deputy chief minister Keshav Maurya, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh visited the veteran leader before he was moved to SGPGI's critical care medicine ICU.
