PM Modi has described the scrap policy of the central government as important in the development of the country. He has said in one of his tweets that this is a very important moment for the country. He called it a milestone.

Addressing this conference, Nitin Gadkari said that this is a very important moment when this policy is being started in the hands of PM Modi. According to him, the government was working on this policy since 2015. This policy will not only reduce the increasing pollution in the country but will also provide employment in future. According to him, more than one crore vehicles are running in the country keeping pollution and safety rules in mind. Due to this the consumption of oil was also increasing. Because of this, accidents on the roads were also increasing.

Gadkari has described this new policy as good for all.

The country will also benefit from this at the international level and India will be able to move ahead in technology. After the implementation of this policy, new vehicle buyers will also get exemption in registration and road tax," he said.

He has also told that the government has taken a resolution to make Alang an integrated scrapping hub. This will also increase employment. The Union Minister has also told that full preparations will also be made so that people do not have to go far for scrap. He said that in the next five years, we will make the country the world's number one producer of automobiles.

This conference is being jointly organized by the Ministry of Road and Transport in association with the State Government. Apart from this, the Union Road and Transport Minister is also expected to participate in this. The conference is basically about more investment in Gujarat. Through this, the state government wants to give an opportunity to the investors to build infrastructure for vehicle scrapping and to influence them towards the scrap policy of the government.

It is worth noting that this scrap policy was proposed by the central government this year. The motive behind implementing this policy was to make the environment clean and discourage people from the habit of driving old vehicles. The government has also made a provision to offer attractive offers on the purchase of new vehicles under this policy.

Gujarat has also started its Voluntary Vehicle Fleet Modernization Program to take forward this policy of the government. In this conference, there will be talk on furthering the ship breaking industry in Gujarat. Let us tell you that Alang in Gujarat is the world's largest ship breaking hub.
