Petrol pump staff try to burn four journalists alive
Faizabad: Four journalists of a Hindi daily were attacked and were tried to burn alive by employees of a petrol pump. However, the attackers forced their way into the office where the four took shelter and beat up the journalists and other staff members.
Later, police came to rescue them. One of the journalists, Krishna Kant Gupta, said that on Friday he went to a petrol pump in Civil Lines area where he filled petrol worth Rs 200 in his vehicle and paid the amount in 20 coins of Rs 10 each. However, the petrol pump staff refused to accept the coins and asked him to pay banknotes. When the journalist asked them why they were not accepting the coins, the petrol pump staff attacked him.
"Some of my colleagues rushed to the spot. Seeing them, the pump staff poured petrol on us and tried to burn us alive," said Krishna Kant.
