On Tuesday, the price of petrol had increased from 34 to 35 paise, while the price of diesel has also increased from 35 to 38 paise. With this, petrol prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata have reached above 90 rupees. At the same time, petrol has been close to Rs 100 a liter in many cities.


Government oil companies are continuously increasing the prices of petrol and diesel in the new year. With this, oil prices have reached the highest level in almost all the cities of the country. Within these 55 days, one liter petrol in Delhi has become expensive by Rs 7.22 and diesel by Rs 7.45. The price of petrol on the new year in the capital Delhi was Rs 83.71. The price of diesel was Rs 73.87. Which is today Rs 90.93 and Rs 81.32 per liter.


Petrol is being sold in Delhi at Rs 90.93 and diesel at Rs 81.32 per liter. While in Mumbai, petrol has reached Rs 97.34 and diesel Rs 88.44 per liter. Petrol in Chennai is being sold at Rs 92.90 and diesel at Rs 86.31 per liter. Petrol in Bangalore costs Rs 93.98 and diesel costs Rs 86.21 per liter.


So far in February, the rate of petrol and diesel has increased 15 times. Earlier in January, rates were increased 10 times. During this time, the price of petrol was increased by Rs 2.59 and diesel by Rs 2.61. So far in 2021, oil prices have been increased by 26 days. 


During this time petrol has become expensive by Rs 7.22 per liter. On January 1, the price of petrol was Rs 83.71, today it is Rs 90.93 per liter. Similarly, diesel has become costlier by Rs 7.45 per liter in Delhi from January 1 to today. On January 1, the price of diesel in Delhi was Rs 73.87 per liter, today it is Rs 81.32.


If we compare today's prices with the prices of the year before, then on 23 February 2020, the rate of petrol in Delhi was Rs 72.01 per liter, that is, petrol has become expensive by Rs 18.92 per liter in the year. Diesel was also Rs 64.70 per liter on 23 February 2020, which means diesel has also become costlier by Rs 16.62 per liter in a year.
