Petrol, Diesel prices on Saturday: Fuel prices unchanged, check rates for your city

In Mumbai, the petrol prices remained constant at 107.83 per litre, the highest in the country. In the national capital, Delhi, the price of petrol remained to stagnate at Rs 101.34 per litre.

New Delhi: Petroleum companies have released new rates of petrol and diesel for today (21st August). Today, government oil companies have not given relief to the common people troubled by the inflation of petrol and diesel. There is no change in fuel prices today. After cutting the prices of diesel for three consecutive days, today its rates are stable. Apart from this, the last change in the price of petrol was on July 18. Petrol prices have remained stable since then.

In the last month, the price of diesel has come down for the third consecutive day after July 17, while the price of petrol has remained stable, while the price of diesel has decreased from 18 paise to 20 paise. Such an opportunity has come after four months when state-owned oil companies are reducing diesel prices. But, for the last 34 days where petrol prices are stable.


In Mumbai, the petrol prices remained constant at 107.83 per litre, the highest in the country. In the national capital, Delhi, the price of petrol remained to stagnate at Rs 101.34 per litre. Petrol prices in Kolkata and Bangalore were also unchanged with one litre of petrol being sold at Rs 102.08 and Rs 105.25 respectively. In Chennai Petrol price was reduced to ₹ 99.47 after the Tamil Nadu government announced a tax cut of Rs 3 on the fuel.


Today, the diesel price in the national capital, Delhi is at Rs 89.27 per litre. In Mumbai, the diesel price stood at Rs 96.84 per litre after the rates were slumped by 20 paise on Friday. Price of diesel in the West Bengal capital at Rs 92.32 per litre. In Bangalore, one litre of diesel is retailed at Rs 94.65 per litre. The diesel is being sold at Rs 93.84 per litre in Chennai. 


Considering the crude oil prices in international markets and rupee-dollar exchange rates, State-run oil refiners such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise fuel rates on a daily basis. All the changes in fuel rates are applied at 6 am.


Fuel prices had been on the rise in the country since May 4 after the assembly elections in states and union territories including West Bengal, Kerala, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.


In the month of July, the price for petrol was raised nine times, while diesel rates went up five times. Earlier in May-June, the prices of petrol and diesel had increased 16 times. Significantly, the round of increase in petrol and diesel prices had started since May 4. After this, the price of petrol in Delhi has gone up by Rs 11.44 and diesel by Rs 09.14 per litre.
