Opposition parties are expected to create a ruckus on the third day of the monsoon session of the Parliament. Parliament proceedings have been disrupted for two consecutive days over the Pegasus project espionage scandal, anti-agriculture agitation and inflation.
On Tuesday, however, there was a debate on the coronavirus pandemic in the Rajya Sabha. Parliament proceedings were not held on Wednesday due to Bakrid. The proceedings of both the Houses of Parliament resumed at 11 am today.
Monsoon Session Updates:
- Congress Lok Sabha MP Manish Tewari has given Adjournment Motion Notice in the House on Pegasus issue.
- Congress MPs Deepender Singh Hooda and Pratap Singh Bajwa have given suspension notice under Rule 267 on the issue of farmers' movement.
- CPI Rajya Sabha MP Binoy Viswam moves privileged motion notice in Rajya Sabha against Minister of State Bharati Praveen Pawar's reply that no one has died due to non-availability of oxygen.
- Congress MP Manickam Tagore has given an Adjournment Motion Notice on the issue of discussion regarding the long agitation of farmers against the anti-farmer bill and directed the government to withdraw it.

There is a possibility of ruckus once again in the Lok Sabha on the issue of farmers and espionage scandal. Before the commencement of the proceedings of the House, the opposition can demonstrate on the agricultural laws in the Parliament premises. There can be tremendous uproar in the House on both these subjects.
As far as the government agenda is concerned, the Essential Defense Services Bill is likely to be introduced in the Lok Sabha today. The bill will be introduced in lieu of an ordinance and carries a jail term of up to two years for strikes in ordnance factories.

Congress will protest today
The Congress has intensified its attack on the central government on the Pegasus espionage case. Congress will hold protests on this issue in different parts of the country today and will take out a march to the Raj Bhavans.
Senior Congress leader Sachin Pilot has said on Pegasus case, "People want to know through which organization or person illegal phone hacking was done and information was collected. Congress will agitate across the country regarding this. If there is nothing to hide, the government should conduct an inquiry to establish credibility."
