Maharashtra: 25-year-old man booked for blackmailing, raping sister-in-law

Pune (Maharashtra): A 25-year-old man from Maharashtra's Parbhani district has been booked for allegedly blackmailing and raping his sister-in-law.

Hinjewadi police registered a case against the accused on Saturday after the victim lodged a complaint, TOI reported.

In her complaint, the woman has alleged that the accused had last month recorded a video clip while she was taking a bath and later blackmailed her and threatened her to make the clip viral. Later on, the accused forced the victim into a physical relation, police said.

"The woman did not tell anyone about it initially. When the man started harassing her again, she informed her husband and came with him to the police station on Saturday and filed the complaint," the report quoted a police offical as saying.

Police have registered a case under Sections 376 and 323 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and is searching for the accused.
