Honor killing case

The 25-year-old Nagaraju (who had recently entered into an inter-religious marriage) was allegedly murdered by his wife's family in Hyderabad, news agency IANS reported.

Bilapuram Nagaraju, who was on a motorcycle with his wife Ashrin Sulthana, was attacked by four-five people near the GHMC office of Saroornagar police station area on Wednesday night.

In a horrifying video shot on a mobile phone, Nagaraju is seen lying on the road, his head bruised, as Sultana cries over his body. Another video shows Sultana getting into a scuffle with the assailant, who tries to kill Nagaraju.

Woman's brother, brother-in-law arrested

On Thursday, the police arrested two people in connection with the murder. A police officer said Sultana's brother and brother-in-law have been arrested. Further details of the case will be announced later, he was quoted as saying. Nagaraju's body was taken to Osmania Hospital for post-mortem.

7 years of relationship, marriage in Arya Samaj Temple

Nagaraju, a resident of Marpalli village in Rangareddy district, and Sultana of neighboring Ghanapur village were in love for the past seven years. However, Sultana's family was opposed and they warned her against continuing the relationship. The girl eloped with Nagaraju earlier this year and got married at the Arya Samaj temple in Lal Darwaza area on January 31, when the girl changed her name to Pallavi. Sensing danger to their lives, the couple had left for Visakhapatnam.

Woman's family tracked, then attacked Nagaraju

According to Nagaraju's parents, they had come back to Hyderabad five days ago and were staying at Panja Anil Kumar Colony in Saroornagar. However, Sultana's family members got to know about his arrival and were tracking his movement. On Wednesday night, when Nagaraju and his wife left their home on a bike, the woman's brother and others chased them and attacked them near the GHMC office. Her parents said that they had offered Sultana's family Rs 2 lakh to spare her life.
