New Delhi: Another accused has been arrested in connection with the violence at the Red Fort in Delhi during the Kisan Tractor Rally in Delhi on Republic Day.
Jaspreet Singh alias Sunny, an accused, was arrested on Monday in connection with the farmers' tractor rally which was taken out on the occasion of Republic Day on January 26 during the farmers' protest against the agricultural laws. He is alleged to have climbed the dome of the Red Fort on January 26 and while doing so he had a steel rod in his hand. Accused Jaspreet (29), son of Raghubir Singh, is a resident of Swaroop Nagar, Delhi.
Jaspreet is the person who was behind the accused Maninder Singh who was arrested earlier. The video of Maninder waving swords at the Red Fort had become viral on social media. Recently, he too has been arrested from Delhi and he too is a resident of Swaroop Nagar. Jaspreet climbed one of the domes on either side of the ramparts of the Red Fort. He was also making gestures while holding the steel rod there.
On Saturday, the Delhi Police released photos of 20 more miscreants in connection with the violence on the Red Fort during the tractor rally on Republic Day on January 26. In the past, police have also released photos of 200 miscreants.
Delhi Police officials say that a scientific investigation is being carried out and the photos of the accused have been released only after their involvement became completely clear. Delhi Police officials say that they are going after those people who are being identified after investigation.
Photographs of the accused are being released in the event that they are not detected. Senior officials of the Delhi Police say that the SIT of the Crime Branch investigated the case following the violence on January 26.
For this, photos, videos and CCTV footage of the events which took place on Republic Day on January 26 were collected. With the help of this evidence, the accused are being identified. Photos of 20 new accused have been identified and were released on Saturday.
