New Delhi: Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday announced that the Aam Aadmi Party-led government in the national capital will provide an ex-gratia of ₹1 crore to the families of six security forces personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty. Sisodia announced the names of six personnel whose family will receive the ex-gratia. While three of these belonged to Air Force (IAF), two were Delhi Police personnel and one was a part of the Civil Defence.
The loss that a family has to bear after their loved one is martyred cannot be repaired, but this ex-gratia helps family to lead a life with dignity, the deputy CM said while addressing a press-conference.
"Right when Arvind Kejriwal came into power, he announced an ex-gratia of ₹1 crore for the families of soldiers and police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty. The loss which a family suffers when their loved one is martyred cannot be repaired. But, this ex-gratia ensures that the family lives a life of respect," he said.
