New Delhi: 52 lakh central employees and 60 lakh pensioners are going to celebrate in July. Big news is coming about their Dearness Allowance and Dearness relief.
The date of the meeting of the employees union with the government regarding the arrears of dearness allowance has been finalised. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the increase in dearness allowance has been banned for the last one and a half years.
When this ban is lifted, then central employees will get 3 installments of Dearness Allowance simultaneously. This will lead to a good increase in salary.

What is the agenda of the meeting?
According to the National Council of Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM), the union of central employees, the meeting which was to be held on 8 May has now been fixed on 26 June. After the reduction in the covid case, the consent of the meeting has been received from the government.
According to JCM Secretary (Staff Side) Shiv Gopal Mishra, we will hold a meeting with the officials of Finance Ministry and Department of Personnel and Training. Many issues will be discussed in the meeting. Especially there will be talk about the arrears of Dearness Allowance available under the 7th Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission). This also includes the arrears of Dearness Relief (DR) of pensioners.
Who will attend the meeting?
According to Shiv Gopal Mishra, the cabinet secretary will preside over the meeting. In the meeting, along with the DA and DR of the 7th Pay Commission, other issues of the employees will also be included. State Employees Joint Council (UP) General Secretary RK Nigam also demanded that the government should lift the ban on the increase of DA in July.
Along with this, one and a half year arrest should also be given. Because the Supreme Court had said in a case that salary and allowance are the entitlement of the employee, it cannot be stopped. That is why the government should also give an arrest.
Pay arrears in installments
According to Shiv Gopal Mishra, if there is a problem in giving the arrear to the government together, then it can release it in installments. This will also not put an immediate burden on the exchequer.
DA will be 17%
Central employees are getting 17% DA at present. In 2019 it had increased to 21%. But the hike has been frozen till June 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Shiv Gopal Mishra said that the government is ready to issue DA. But arrears also have to be paid.
Dearness Allowance is a part of salary and Dearness Relief is part of pension. The government has arrears of 18 months. He has to issue it.
DA can increase up to 32 percent
Employees' organizations say that the amount of DA should be increased by 24 percent in June 2020, 28 percent in December 2020 and 32 percent in July 21.
