Several states including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab have decided to open schools with 50 percent attendance for class 10th and 12th students from July 26.
But schools will have to strictly follow the coronavirus guidelines issued by the respective state governments. Parents must give written consent to send students to schools.
Which states are opening schools from today?
Private and government schools in Madhya Pradesh will open from July 26. The school will take up two days a week with 50 per cent student attendance. Monday and Thursday for class 12th and Tuesday and Friday for class 11th can be fixed. Apart from this, classes from class 9th to 12th will start from August 5. Wednesday for 10th and Saturday for ninth can be fixed. Along with this, online classes will also continue.
Class 12 schools, colleges and technical institutes have already been opened in Gujarat. Classes for class 9-11 have also started from July 26. During this, protocols related to coronavirus prevention like wearing masks, social distancing are strictly followed etc. Students will get admission in the school only after permission from the parents. All school staff must have required at least one dose of the vaccine.
Schools for classes 10, 11 and 12 have opened in Punjab from July 26. However, only those teachers and staff will get entry in the school who will be fully vaccinated. The decision of the parents will be final on whether the students come to school or not. If the situation remains under control, the rest of the classes can be opened from August 2.
Schools have been opened in Odisha from today for the students of classes 10th and 12th. However, students have been asked to take the consent of their parents. Those who do not want to attend traditional classes can continue with online education.
