New Delhi: The central government on Saturday released a list of 11 states, worst affected by second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. Karnataka with 5,98,625 active cases tops the list following by Maharashtra, Kerala, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Gujrat, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
Luv Aggarwal joint secretary of Health Ministry while realsing the figures said, "11 states have over 1 lakh active cases, 8 states have 50,000 to 1 lakh active cases, & 17 have less than 50,000 cases. Maharashtra, UP, Gujarat & Chhattisgarh where high number of cases are being reported are also reporting decline in active cases."
"The cause of concern is Tamil Nadu where a rise in number of active cases has been reported in last one week", Aggarawal added further.
