Women cockpit crew of Air India have created history once again. An Air India flight, that has only female cockpit crew, has successfully taken its first flight from San Francisco to Bangalore. This flight reached Bangalore via Atlantic via the North Pole. The air distance between San Francisco and Bangalore is considered to be the highest in the world. In a historic move, Air India's longest direct route flight with the all-women pilot team landed at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru from San Francisco, flying over the North Pole and covering a distance of about 16,000 kilometres.
Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri gave this information by tweeting. He said: "Way to go girls! Professional, qualified & confident, the all-women cockpit crew takes off from San Francisco to Bengaluru on @airindiain s flight to fly over the North Pole. Our Nari Shakti achieves a historic first."

The team has operated the historic Inaugural Flight between Bengaluru and San Francisco. The air distance between San Francisco and Bangalore is the highest in the world.

An Air India official said that the North Pole Flying over is challenging. Airline companies send their experienced pilots on this route. This time Air India gave the responsibility of moving the female pilot from San Francisco to Bangalore.
The Air India flight flew over the North Pole, taking the Atlantic route to reach Bengaluru. The inaugural flight AI176 departed from San Francisco in the USA at 8.30 pm on Saturday and it landed at the Kempegowda International Airport at 3.45 am on Monday. It worked with Boeing 777-200LR aircraft VT ALG. It has a seating capacity of 238 passengers, including eight first-class, 35 business class, 195 economy class configurations, plus 4 cockpits and 12 cabin crew.
