Nearly 40 lakh people were declared 'outsiders' in the NRC draft released on Monday.Expressing concern over the exclusion of 40 lakh names in the final National Register of Citizens draft, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said those "Indian citizens have become refugees" in their own land. Banerjee also alleged that the central government has resorted to "vote-bank politics". Here are the major points she said about the National Register of Citizens Draft in Delhi's Constitution Club:1. What is going on in Assam? The NRC problem. It is not only the Bengalis, it is the minorities, it is Hindus, it is Bengalis, it is Biharis.2. More than 40 lakhs people voted yesterday for the ruling party and suddenly today they have been made refugees in their own country3. I don't want to see my motherland with hope, I don't want to see my motherland divided, said Mamata Banerjee4. We will not allow this to happen in Bengal because we are there. Today these people cannot even vote5. I am surprised to see that the names of our former President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed's family members are not on the #NRCAssam list. What else can I say? There are so many people whose names are not there: WB CM6. If Bengalis say Biharis can't stay in Bengal, South Indian people say North Indians can't stay there and North Indians say South Indians can't stay here. What will be state of this country, because we are together?7. Our country is a family: WB CM Mamata Banerjee in #Delhi8. Only to win polls people can't be victimised. Don't you think people who's name isn't in list will lose a part of their identity?9. Please understand India-Pakistan-Bangladesh were one before partition. Whoever came from Bangladesh to India till March 1971 is an Indian citizen10.
