This is how Sachin made Surat girl's 'Diksha' ceremony special

Surat

Surat, July 24: The ‘Diksha’ ceremony is supposed to be a solemn ritual for Jains which mark their journey into a life of renunciation in which they sacrifice all worldly pleasures.

For Stuti Shah, a 17-year-old girl from Surat, this occasion turned a bit more special as she drove to the ceremony in a red Ferrari which belonged to none other than legendary batsman and former India captain Sachin Tendulkar.

The girl wished to ride in the legendary cricketer’s car while going to her renunciation ceremony. It was a request which her father Suresh Shah, a thriving businessman in Surat, wanted to fulfill.

The ‘Master Blaster’ had received the high-end car as a gift from racing legend Michael Schumacher. He had later sold it off to Jayesh Desai, a builder based in Surat, in 2011.

Suresh reportedly requested Desai to give him the Ferrari for a day as it was his daughter’s wish to drive in the car on the day of her renunciation ceremony.

“I wanted to become a motivational speaker but I changed my mind and decided to take ‘Diksha’ in 2017 after I came in contact with our ‘Maharaj Saheb’,” Stuti said.

Stuti, a class X passout, has been living life of a monk since the last two years at her paternal home in Gopipura.

“Even I wanted her to become a motivational speaker but if this is what she has chosen, it is her wish,” Suresh Shah said.
