High alert: 10 terrorists have entered Gujarat to attack India, Pak NSA warns Ajit Doval

Ahmedabad: Following an intelligence input from Pakistan’s National Security Adviser (NSA) Nasir Khan Janjua to his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval that 10 terrorists had entered the state to carry out strikes, security across Gujarat has been beefed up.


According to intelligence agencies, the possible infiltration is aimed at creating disturbances on or around Shivaratri which falls on Monday.

If the Pakistani intelligence is to be believed, which it has communicated for the first time, the infiltrants are fidayeen from the Lashkar-E-Taiba and Jaish-e Mohammed cadres.


Following Doval's communication to the Gujarat government, security has been stepped up at sensitive installations, places of worship and public places; particularly at Somnath temple, Dwarka temple, Akshardham temple, airports, power plants, Sarovar Dam and railway stations.


The alert across the state comes after a BSF patrolling team found an abandoned boat off the Koteshwar coast in Kutch on Friday.


Following the threat to the state, the Director General Police of Gujarat, PC Thakur cancelled the leave of all police officials and ordered them to resume duty immediately.
