When the heart works under increased pressure that can cause serious hypertensive heart disease including heart failure, thickening of the heart muscle, coronary artery disease etc. The hypertensive heart disease is the leading cause of death from high blood pressure.
The main risk factor for hypertensive heart diseases are:
1 High blood pressure
2 Overweight
3 Less physical activity
4 Smoking
5 Foods high in fat and cholesterol
You have higher chances to get heart disease if it is genetic in your family. However, Men have higher risk of getting heart disease than women who have not gone through menopause. But, Men and women post menopause are equally at risk. The risk for heart disease will increase with your age.

2 Tightness or pressure in the chest

1 Narrowing of the arteries
Coronary arteries transports blood to the heart muscle. But if you are suffering from high blood pressure it can narrow the blood vessels due to which blood flow to the heart can slow or stop.
2 Thickening and enlargement of the heart
The problem of high blood pressure makes difficult for your heart to pump blood as it narrows the blood vessels. Regular hard work can thicken the muscles of your heart which can narrow the coronary arteries.
You need emergency care if you face unbearable chest pain. Also, you need regular checkups if you are more than 40 years of age will indicate, especially if you are suffering from high blood pressure.
You need extra care if you are suffering from hypertension, diabetes, high blood pressure or more age.
