New Delhi: Akshay Kumar has released the first look of Oh My God 2 on his social media as 'Lord Shiva'. The film will be touted as a sequel to 2012's Oh My God, but it has nothing in common except Akshay Kumar and the production house. Pankaj Tripathi has replaced Paresh Rawal in this film and the story has shifted to Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh.
On Saturday, Akshay took to Instagram and announced the project. He also shared the first poster of the film, in which he can be seen donning Lord Shiva's avatar. "Karta kare na kar sake shiv kare so hoye. Need your blessings and wishes for #OMG2, our honest and humble attempt to reflect on an important social issue. May the eternal energy of Adiyogi bless us through this journey. Har Har Mahadev," Akshay captioned the post.
The actor is giving back-to-back films, on Friday, he finished his film Ram Setu's Ooty schedule and on Saturday morning he reached Ujjain to kick-start 'Oh My God 2.' Just before starting the shooting of the film, Akshay attended the Maha Aarti of 'Mahakal temple' in Ujjain. Duly worshipped, however, his film walks on a path of faith, belief and superstition, where pretense is exposed.
News24 has exclusive access to the video shots of 'Oh My God 2' and Khiladi Kumar's Ujjain visit. We are the first to bring you the pictures-videos of the shoot from the sets of this film. The shooting of Oh My God 2 will take place around the Mahakal temple, Ujjain.
Akshay recently took a video on Instagram with Pankaj Tripathi and wrote, "Where the universe began, where the universe departs, Me and my friend @pankajtripathi reached Ujjain, the city of ascetics to seek the blessings of Lord Mahakal, the lord of Aadi and Eternity."
Directed by Amit Rai, 'Oh My God 2' is a sequel to Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar-starrer of the same name. In the original film, Akshay had essayed the character of Lord Krishna.
Apart from Akshay, the movie also features Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi.
