Mumbai: The controversy around the death of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput continues to take a political colour.
After the suggestion of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, now Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey has also come out with a statement.
The Bihar DGP believes that Sushant's father will have to demand an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the issue. The police cannot demand a CBI inquiry into the case.
The DGP expressed confidence in the Bihar Police and asserted that they are fully capable of solving the case.
"We are trying to resolve the case at the earliest. Soon, senior IPS officers will be sent to Mumbai for investigation," he said.
"The question of jurisdiction will be decided by the Supreme Court, and we will follow whatever the Supreme Court decides," he added.
While providing an update on the investigations being carried out by the Bihar Police, Gupteshwar Pandey said that six people have been questioned in connection with the case so far.
"We will try to bring out the truth soon and will give our full contribution in the case," he asserted.
