New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways has indefinitely postponed RRB NTPC and Level 1 Exam 2021 following the protest of Railway jobs aspirants on Tuesday at Bihar Sharif railway station in Nalanda. The ministry has informed that a committee has been set up to hear the grievances of aspirants.
The Ministry of Railways said, "Railway Ministry stays examinations of Non-Technical Popular Categories & Level 1 of Railway Recruitment Board in wake of students' protest. A committee has been formed to listen to the candidates who cleared or failed. It will give a report to the Ministry."
On Tuesday evening, the Railways Ministry had issued a notification where it said that police action will be taken against those aspirants who participated in vandalism at Bihar Sharif railway station in Nalanda earlier in the day. They will get a lifetime debarment from obtaining Railway job.
The protest turned violent when the aspirants allegedly set a passenger train on fire and pelted stones at Arrah police. Hundreds of students had disturbed the train services by blocking Kolkata-New Delhi main railway line at Rajendra Nagar Terminal in Patna.
The students went aggressive after the result for RRB NTPC CBT 1 result came out. The candidates alleged that the result contains discrepancies. Those who have qualified CBT 1 exams are eligible for round 2 which is RRB NTPC CBT 2. The RRB NTPC CBT 2 exam was scheduled to start from February 15 which would continue till February 19, 2022.
In the latest, several protestors got injured in clashes while demonstrating against RRB-NTPC results at Sitamarhi railway station as police opens fire in the air.
