Chennai: A petition has been filed in the Madras High Court against Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Tamannaah Bhatia.
In the petition, both have been accused of promoting online gambling. The petitioner has also demanded their arrest.
This petition has been filed by a lawyer from Chennai. In this, the petitioner has asked the high court to give directions to ban online gambling. According to him, the prevalance of widespread online gambling is corrupting the youth.
According to a report in 'Times Now', this petition further states that online gambling companies are using celebs like Virat Kohli and Tamanna to brainwash the youth and hence both should be arrested for this.
He also referred to the case of a young man who had committed suicide because he could not return the money he had borrowed for online gambling.
Virat Kohli is staying in his Mumbai home during the ongoing lockdown with wife Anushka Sharma and is preparing for this year's Indian Premier League (IPL). Virat will be captaining the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.
However, Virat has been unlucky in terms of captaincy, because even after captaining RCB for many years, his team has not been able to win the IPL title even once.
