New Delhi, Nov 3: Rahul Ganhi's three-day Gujarat trip was shortened by a day as the Congress vice president had to rush to Rae Bareli after there was a boiler blast in the NTPC plant there. The mishap has witnessed 30 deaths. Amid efforts by Congress to seek support of Patidar agitation leader Hardik Patel ahead of Gujarat assembly elections, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi had visited the state on Wednesday and addressed a series of corner meetings in Bharuch and Surat districts. But nothing substantial has come out of the visit so far.
Today again Rahul is back in Gujarat to address a number of public rallies.
Speaking at a rally in Gujrat's Pardi Rahul said, "Rs 33,000 crore was given for Nano but I haven't seen a single Nano in the past 10-15 days. I've been looking for one but couldn't find it." This was a clear dig at the BJP government in the state.
The visit comes a couple of days after Hardik Patel had said that his organisation Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) was agreeable to explore constitutional solutions for its demand of quotas for the Patidar community.
Hardik Patel had earlier given an ultimatum to the Congress to come clear on reservations for his community under the OBC category by November 3.
