Great news for jawans! Now Central paramilitary personnel on NDRF deputation will get 2-year allowance
Now central paramilitary personnel on deputation in the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) will get allowance for the first two years, a recent order by Union home ministry said.
New Delhi, Sept 16: Now central paramilitary personnel on deputation in the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) will get allowance for the first two years, a recent order by Union home ministry said. The directives said, “After taking into consideration the difficulties being experienced by NDRF and CAPFs on attachment of personnel for two years prior to induction of deputation, the proviso relating to two-year attachment for personnel on deputation to NDRF of May 2017 is hereby removed with immediate effect."
This order reverses the decision which was earlier taken by former Union home minister Rajnath Singh.
A senior ministry official said those working in NDRF were not getting deputation allowance (approx. Rs 10,000 per month) and hence many were unwilling to join the force.
“The decision is already showing results. We have started receiving many proposals from CAPFs,” NDRF DG SN Pradhan told ET.
NDRF was raised in 2006 as a full-deputation organisation, with paramilitary forces like CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF and SSB constituting its manpower. It has 14,000 personnel in its ranks with 12 battalions.
Earlier, NDRF personnel had to undergo job training for 2 years where no deputation allowance was admissible during such period of attachment.
