New Delhi: The government is working on a plan to provide confirmed seat on demand by 2020. "We want to make network in such a way that people should get reservation on demand by 2020. It is not possible in a day," Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha said on Monday.
The Railways is also going all out to curb corruption, and tweets are aiding this effort. A train traveller in Kalka Express tweeted about a TT asking for money for a seat at Barmer station in Rajasthan. He had tagged PM Narendra Modi and Rail Minister Suresh Prabhu.
The action was prompt. Railways despatched a vigilance team, within 2 hours the team was in the running train. Allegations were found true by the vigilance team and the report was sent to the DRM, who suspended the accused TT immediately.
This quick response by Railways is a big relief for over 2 crore passengers who travel on train daily and face similar harassment.
