New Delhi: Jio users, this news will make you feel proud. That's because Jio is the number one company, yet again. This is not based on data of any private research company, but telecome regulator TRAI data shows that this Reliance company is number one.
TRAI data shows that Jio accounts for nearly 40% of the broadband connections in India. Jio has achieved this feat within six months of launching its telecom operations.
The numbers speak for the month of February and includes both wired and wireless connections in the country. According to TRAI, 512Kbps is the minimum speed for telecom operators to qualify as a broadband connection.
The TRAI report for February says that here are 261.31 million broadband users in India. Out of which, Reliance Jio accounts for 102.84 million (39.36 per cent) users.
Bharti is at number two with 46.69 million connections (17.87 per cent), Vodafone at number three with 32.06 million users (12.27 per cent) followed by Idea Cellular (24.31 million, 9.3 per cent), and BSNL (20.81 million, 7.69 per cent).
