While Samsung was the traditional Android rival to the seamless iOS, OnePlus has replaced the South Korean giant as the potential iPhone killer, at least on the spec sheet. Both the companies have launched their flagships and it is time to assess which is better for you.
New Delhi: The iPhone have ruled the roost for long when it comes to premium smartphones for a long time. The primary reason was the upmarket make and feel of the phone as well as the hassle-free operation. The iPhone cameras too have mostly been better than the what the market provides in the same price bracket.
But, while Samsung was the traditional Android rival to the seamless iOS, OnePlus has replaced the South Korean giant as the potential iPhone killer, at least on the spec sheet. Both the companies have launched their flagships and it is time to assess which is better for you.
The iPhone's retina display has always awed smartphone users for its crispness without tiring your eyes out with a whole day’s of hard work. The iPhone 13 Pro Max now sports an all-new Super Retina XDR display that is based on OLED technology (organic light-emitting diode). This gives the display incredible contrast, high brightness, and a cinema-standard wide-colour range. Colours are precisely calibrated to deliver an optimal viewing experience.
OnePlus’s Fluid AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) display is better in a way that it uses a better technology. The AMOLED display quality is much better than the OLEDs as it contains an additional layer of TFTs and follows backplane technologies. The AMOLED displays are much flexible as compared to the OLED display. Hence, they are much costly than the OLED display.
While, this is the difference in tech, you will actually not make out any real difference in experience. On paper both offer 6.7 inch display, with a refresh rate of 120Hz
WATER, DUST PROOF
Both the phones come with IP68 rating. But, while the iPhone can resist water to a depth of 6 meters for half hour, the OnePlus bows out with a resistance for just 1.5 meters for the same time period of immersion.
The camera on the iPhone smartphone includes an all-new ultra-wide and tele-photo lens. While the spec sheet of the OnePlus is a bit more impressive than the iPhone , but in real-life experience, the iPhone leave the OnePlus miles behind in the pic quality, especially those shot in the dark. In fact, the iPhone now sports 20% smaller notch for the front camera than before.
The new A15 Bionic chip has lent the iPhone with better battery and power management and the phone now stands neck to neck with OnePlus in daily usage. Also, the A15 Bionic chip is 50% faster than the competition. The iPhone carries a 4400mAH battery.
On the other hand, the OnePlus was always a good choice when it came to balance between features and battery life. It also carries a slight higher 4500mAH battery. But, again the daily delivery of power of the two phones remains at the same level.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max is undoubtedly a bigger, heavier phone at 238 grams. Those who like the more rounded and tough-feeling iPhone form factor may actually like it. At 197 grams, the OnePlus 9 Pro is a more manageable phone. It is also thinner of the two.
