New Delhi (Anish Yande): Through an event titled 'StreamFest', Netflix would be offering Free access to Netflix to everyone in India. The StreamFest event would last for a weekend in December, from December 5 to 6th. The streaming event is an effort from Netflix to bring its content to a wide range of users so that they can experience Netflix, with all its services and offerings.
How to Sign Up for StreamFest:
To sign up for Netflix, Netflix offers an option to stream Netflix for free for 30 days. For this login, Netflix requires your name and a valid email id or phone number along with registering a credit/debit card or other payment options with the streaming platform.
For StreamFest, you can visit netflix.com/StreamFest. You can enter your name and an email id or phone number. However, users wouldn't be required to enter your credit/debit card or any payment details.
What You Can Watch in StreamFest:
In StreamFest, users who sign up during the weekend can access Netflix's entire content catalog in India. You can watch Netflix's Original Series, Films, and other categories. The hit films and widely appreciated series, documentaries, and reality shows, which are available on Netflix, can be viewed for free for the December weekend.
Users can start viewing the content from midnight on December 5.
Those who sign up for StreamFest can access Netflix's wide range of features. These include creating different profiles for different users, parental controls, and choosing and adding preferences to the 'My List'
Netflix's StreamFest would be available on a variety of platforms, which include Chrome on PC/Laptops, iPhone, Android, smart TV, Chromecast, and other platforms.
Netflix's Chief Product Officer and Chief Operating Officer, Greg Peters, had announced the idea for the free weekend service in October.
Greg Peters, in a statement, said that Netflix providing free access to its content was a great way to expose several new people to amazing stories from Netflix. He talked about how this was a great way to give access to people wanting to experience Netflix's service and how it worked.
