New Delhi, July 5: Reliance Industries held its 41st AGM meeting in Mumbai and announced the launching of three upcoming products- JioPhone 2, JioGigaFiber and Giga TV set-top box.
With Giga TV set-top box, the company is planning to give tough competition its rivals like Airtel, Tata Sky and other companies with its budget plans like it offers in the telecom sector.
The new set-top box by Jio will offer a 4K resolution on TV channels and will also support voice commands in many Indian languages, the company claims, aiming to fulfil the motto "Bhasha anek, Bharat ek."
Apart from this, the GigaTV will also enable multi-party video conferencing offering enable peer-to-peer video calls over the broadband through the Jio user's TV.
With the Jio GigaTV set-top box, the company claims to offer than 600 movie channels, more than 1000 movies, millions of songs as per customer demand.
The company will send 'Jio Engineers' who will set up the Giga TV in users home.
Apart from Giga TV, Isha Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director or Reliance Industries launched JioPhone 2 that will be available from August 15 this year. The key highlights of the new phone are the compatibility of YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp that the current one lacks.
As far as JioPhone 2 features are concerned, it will feature a 2.4QVGA display, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of ROM which can be expanded upto 128 GB via micro SD card. For photography, JioPhone 2 will sport 2-megapixel rear camera and VGA front-facing camera. Dual SIM JioPhone 2 will have connectivity options like LTE, VoLTE, and VoWi-FI, FM, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and NFC.
As far as price is concerned the new JioPhone 2 will be available for Rs 2,999.
But under monsoon offer, Jio users can replace their older JioPhone for a new JioPhone 2 for just Rs 500
