New Delhi, Oct 18: This Pakitsani batsman has become a joke. World is laughing at him, Twitterati just can't stop laughing at his foolishness. He is Azhar Ali. He was involved in probably one of the silliest dismissals in the history of world cricket. It was 53rd over in Pakistan's second innings against Australia on day 3 of the second Test. Australian bowler Peter Siddle was trying the Pakistan batsmen with his outswingers outside the off stump. Eventually, he managed an edge off the blade of Azhar Ali's bat. The ball went through the close in fielders and set to reach the boundary. Confident of a four, Azhar walked up to the non-striker to discuss strategy, as batsmen normally do.
Hey, there was a twist. The ball slowed down before reaching the ropes. A panting Mitchell Starc ran to the tird man boundary and retrieved the ball before it crossed the ropes and threw the ball to eagerly waiting keeper Tim Paine. Paine removed the bails as the batsmen looked on from middle of the pitch.
The Aussies cheered each other as Azhar stood dumbfounded. He was declared out. A dejected Azhar walked back, probably cursing his foolishness. His 29th Test fifty meant less to coach than his foolishness..as was evident with coach Mikey Arthur shaking his head in shock.Aussie needed a wicket as that time Pakistani batsmen were piling runs. And, it came in one of the most comical way.
