URI - The Surgical Strike(2019)
URI - The Surgical Strike deploys on real event that saw Indian Army retaliating against Pakistan with a surgical strike 11 days after they planted a deadly attack on Kashmir in 2016. It is directed and written by debutant Aditya Dhar. The film stars Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Yami Gautam, Mohit Raina and Kirti Kulhari in lead roles. Apart from receiving critical acclaim and collecting footfalls in theatres, URI also bagged Vicky Kaushal his first National Award.
It is a historic war film produced and directed by J. P. Dutta. Centred around Kargil war that was fought between India and Pakistan in 199, the film depicts the bravery and sense of team spirit. The films featured an ensemble cast including the likes of Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Akshaye Khanna mong others.
The film based on the life chronicles of India's renowned freedom fighter Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi saw Kangana Ranaut play the lead character. It was directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi and Kangana Ranaut with a screenplay by K. V. Vijayendra Prasa.
Kesari, featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead role, tells the true story of Battle of Saragarhi that Sikh regiment fought in 1897. The film directed by Anurag Singh is also credited for introducing some soulful patriotic renditions including Teri Mitti, Ek Onkaar among others.
Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Parmanu features John Abraham, Diana Penty and Boman Irani in lead roles. The film is based on the real story of Pokhran nuclear weapon test that was conducted in 1974.
