New Delhi: The first official images of much-anticipated finale of Spanish web-series Money Heist, originally titled 'La Casa de Papel' were released on Thursday.
The series has so far aired two seasons with two-part each. The upcoming season will also have two parts, including the finale of the show.
As signaled by the first official images of the final season, the show appears to get even murkier as we could easily see chaos inside as well as outside of the Bank of Spain.
While the Professor is caught off guard after Sierra finds his hideout, Lisbon is safe inside the bank. Now, it would be interesting to see how the gang unites against all the odds since the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives. With no plan on table, it will be audience's first time to see professor led well executed team in desperation as it has been shut in the Bank of Spain for over 100 hours.
The creator of the series, Álex Pina, said, “When we began to write Part 5 in the midst of the pandemic, we felt that we had to change what was expected from the ten-episode season and used every tool we could to create the sensation of a season finale or series finale in the first volume itself. We decided to work in an extremely aggressive genre, putting The Gang on the ropes. In volume 2, we focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure.”
The wildly popular series' season finale will have two instalments of five episodes each; part 1 will be released on September 3 and part 2 will be released on December 3, 2021.
The description of the teaser had read, "This is more than just a fight, it’s war. La Resistencia is coming back: Volume 1 on September 3rd and Volume 2 on December 3rd, 2021."
Úrsula Corberó as Tokio and Álvaro Morte as El Profesor are back for the new season. Itziar Ituño, Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente, Esther Acebo, Darko Peric and Enrique Arce have also returned for season 5.
