New Delhi: The recent cyclone Tauktae in the country has caused heavy losses in Karnataka, Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. It is a relief that not many people came in the grip of this storm, but torrential rains and strong winds destroyed properties worth many crores. The list includes sets of some films and TV serials. The set of film actor Ajay Devgn's upcoming film 'Maidaan' has suffered heavy losses due to the storm. The situation is that the producer of the film, Boney Kapoor will have to get the set rebuilt and this will be the third time that the set will be made.
Recently, Boney Kapoor spoke to ETimes about this. The producer said, 'The set is completely ruined, we have to get it made for the third time. We had to break the set for the first time when the first lockdown happened, we had to recreate the set again and then again lockdown was imposed, if the lockdown had not happened we would have finished shooting the film. The entire set is destroyed except for the pitch. However, there has been some damage to the pitch as well, but we have already spent 30 crores rupees and the work is still not completed.'
Let us tell you that not only the set of 'Maidaan' has been damaged due to the storm, but also the set of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's film 'Tiger 3' has also fallen prey to it. Not only this, Alia and Ranbir Kapoor's under-construction house, and the set of TV serial 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' have also come into the grip of this storm.
Discussions had also started about Ajay Devgan's film Maidaan that the film could be released on digital platforms on a pay-per-view basis, but now the makers of the film released a statement about it. The makers released a statement on Thursday, stating that there is currently no ongoing negotiation with any streaming platform to release the field on a pay-per-view basis. 'At the moment, our focus is to complete the film and follow the protocol set by the government, keeping everyone's safety in mind.' Maidaan is a sports biopic film, produced by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta.
