New Delhi: After some unexpected turn of events, Shilpa Shetty's career seems to have taken a backfoot. The actor, even after having an extensive career spanning over two decades, was sidelined from many projects post her husband Raj Kundra's arrest in pornographic creation case.
At a time when everyone seems to have left Shilpa in the deep water, her mentor Hungama 2 producer Ratan Jian has come to her defence. The two have previously collaborated for Hathyar and Dhadkan. Shilpa's husband Raj Kundra was arrested earlier this month for a case related to porn creation.
Sympathizing with Shilpa’s troubles, Jain said in an interview, “As much as I know Shilpa, she will not do something like that at all. I can’t really say, how much did she really know about her husband’s business, but I don’t think she was involved in it. Any family person should not do this kind of work and jitna main Shilpa ko jaanta hoon woh aisa kaam nahi karegi (I am sure Shilpa will not get involved in anything like this).”
“But, having said that, one has to leave it to agencies that are investigating the case,” Jain told E Times.
Shilpa hasn't released any statement in her husband's case. However, according to police sources, the actor shouted at him when he was taken home during crime branch's search.
Mumbai Police in a statement said that even as no one has witnessed against Shilpa, she hasn't been given a clean chit in the case yet.
Kundra, who was on Tuesday remanded in judicial custody for 14 days, earned at least Rs 1.17 crore between August and December last year from his business of production and online distribution of porn films, the police had told a magistrate’s court. The 45-year-old businessman has cited that the films that he made did not contain any direct or explicit sexual contention.
