New Delhi: The much-awaited trailer of Taapsee Pannu's forthcoming film Haseen Dillruba is finally out. Helmed by Vinil Mathew and produced by Aanand L Rai, the film also stars Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on July 2.
The trailer introduces three main characters of what appears to be a love triangle - Taapsee Pannu as Rani, Vikrant Massey as her husband Rishabh and Harshvardhan Rane as her lover Neel Tripathi. Rani's favourite genre of books is murder mysteries - an author named Dinesh Tripathi is her favourite. After Rishu is killed in an explosion, the police accuse Rani of his murder and that's when her secret relationship with Neel Tripathi comes to the limelight. Taapsee Pannu is brilliant as Rani with her cold gaze and sharp responses to the investigating officer's queries.
In October, Taapsee Pannu announced the shoot wrap of Haseen Dillruba. Calling Rani a 'self-obsessed borderline narcissist', she wrote, "Abhi aankh main khatak rahi hu toh kya.. kabhi toh dil main dhadkungi. One line that sums up Rani Kashyap! And it’s a wrap on #HaseenDilruba ! Finally, after shooting during the coldest days in Haridwar to sultry hot days in Mumbai this film has probably experienced all seasons and human emotions possible under the sun (including the Pandemic). Here’s to getting ‘pulp fiction’ back on screen with the character you either love to hate or hate to love coz basic toh hum vaise bhi kuch karte nahi hai na. P.S - don’t know why we r so happy in this picture must be coz of @polyvynil , the only person on set who has better sense of humour than Rani Kashyap and the other one is the only one who loved this self obsessed borderline narcissist character more than she ever could @vikrantmassey87 #FilmWrap #HaseenDilruba #EndOfAnotherChapter (sic)."
Haseen Dillruba was earlier set to release in cinemas on September 18 last year. However, it was pushed due to the ongoing pandemic. The T-Series and Colour Yellow Productions will premiere on July 2 on Netflix. The story of the film has been written by Kanika Dhillon.
