Football legend Maradona dies; Bollywood celebrities pour in tributes for the 'GOAT'

MaraNew Delhi: Argentinian star footballer Diego Maradona died of heart attack on Wednesday at the age of 60. Regarded as one of the greatest footballers to have ever lived, Maradona's demise has left the world in grief.

As the entire world mourns the footballer's demise, Bollywood celebrities have also come forward to pay their respects. 

Shah Rukh Khan took to his Twitter handle to share a picture of Maradona lifting the 1986 World Cup won by Argentina and wrote, "Diego Maradona... you made football even more beautiful. You will be sorely missed and may you entertain and enthral heaven as you did this world. RIP..."

Ranveer Singh shared a picture of the star player on Instagram and captioned it with a broken heart with the along the hashtag 'Diego Maradona.'

Abhishek Bachchan also took to Twitter to pay tribute and wrote, "#RIPMaradona legend! #GOAT"

Esha Deol shared that Maradona inspired her to play football as she wrote, “#RIPMaradona a true legend & you were my inspiration to play football!” 

 Riteish Deshmukh paid his respect by sharing a picture of Maradona covered in mud on the football field and wrote, “This image says it all. GOAT #Maradona Rest In Glory.”

 Aftab Shivdasani wrote, “A childhood hero for all of us has left us.. a part of football history ended today. Rest in Glory Diego Maradona. May God grant your soul eternal peace. Deepest condolences to his family.. #DiegoArmandoMaradona #RIP.” 

Priyanka Chopra also took to her Instagram story to pay tribute and wrote, "RIP Diego Maradona. One fo the greates football players of all time. A true legend."

Kareena Kapoor Khan also posted a picture of Maradona in her Instagram stories and wrote, "Rest in Power."

"A legend has passed. Rest in peace Diego Maradona," wrote Mahesh Babu on Twitter.
