New Delhi: Actress Deepika Padukone has tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently in Bangalore with her family. Earlier today, it was reported that Deepika’s father, Prakash Padukone, mother Ujjala Padukone, and sister Anisha Padukone had tested positive for the deadly infection.
While an official confirmation on behalf of the actress is awaited, the website of IIFA tweeted the health update on Tuesday. "#DeepikaPadukone has tested positive for Covid-19. Get well soon, Deepika!" said a tweet on @IIFA.
Earlier in the day, reports surfaced that Deepika's father Prakash Padukone, a badminton legend, has been hospitalised following his contraction with the novel virus.
Vimal Kumar, a close friend of Padukone told PTI, “Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), they developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive He is okay now. All his parameters are fine, his wife and daughter are at home and he too will be hopefully discharged in 2-3 days."
Deepika had flown to Bangalore with husband and actor Ranveer Singh after lockdown like restrictions were imposed in Mumbai over spiraling daily cases of covid-19.
The actress hasn't been much active on social media lately and is yet to confirm the reports.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika was last seen in Meghna Gulzar directorial Chhapaak. Up next, she has a number of projects in her pipeline. She will be seen in Kabir Khan directorial 83 with husband Ranveer Singh and will also feature in The Intern, Shakun Batra's next and Pathan among others.
