Los Angeles, Oct 4: Comedy star Eddie Murphy will receive the career achievement honour at the 20th annual Hollywood Film Awards.
The Dick Clark productions announced the news, saying they are looking forward to honour the work of the 55-year-old "Beverly Hills Cop" star, reported Variety.
"Eddie Murphy has had a spectacular career as a comedian, actor, writer, producer and director, spanning more than 35 years. We look forward to honouring his extraordinary body of work," said dcp CEO Allen Shapiro.
The ceremony will be hosted by actor James Corden at the Beverly Hilton on November 6.
Past honorees of the award include Robert De Niro, Glenn Close, Harrison Ford, Richard Gere, Dustin Hoffman, Michael Keaton, and Robin Williams.
