At home, you can plan your meals without any stress. However, at restaurants also you can feel better about ordering your favourite dishes with these two key pointers in mind:
* Words on Menus: You may already know sweet dishes can be loaded with sugar, but also look out for options labeled “BBQ,” “glazed,” or “sticky.” These foods may be high in added sugars.
* Foods made with a healthy technique. Scour the menu for dishes described as “baked,” “broiled,” “grilled,” “poached,” “steamed,” “boiled,” or “roasted,” Salsberg says. Be confident about changing your techniques: Fish poached in water or wine is better than poached in olive oil.
