New Delhi, Dec 5: Desi girl Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas's wedding is currently the hottest topic all over the globe. The wedding emerged as the most talked about events of the year. Priyanka and Nick's family members were in full attendance at the wedding. Priyanka preferred Rajasthan's beautiful location Jodhpur as her Christian and Hindu wedding ceremony.
After saying ‘I do’ in a Western ceremony on Saturday, December 1—which saw the bride in a custom-made white wedding dress designed by Ralph Lauren himself—Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas also tied the knot in a Hindu function at the Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur, on Sunday, December 2.
Priyanka Chopra dazzled everyone in a red Sabyasachi lehenga for her Hindu wedding ceremony and Hubby Nick complemented her perfectly in a beige sherwani. The couple completed their wedding ensembles by opting for shoes by Christian Louboutin x Sabyasachi.
“It is super important to Priyanka to have an Indian ceremony that honours her heritage and culture, just as it’s important to also have a Western ceremony that honours Nick’s Christian upbringing,” a source had told People earlier. “They are doing both.”
Earlier, Priyanka opted for a bold yellow Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga embroidered with stars and blooms in shades of lime green and deep pink for her mehandi ceremony, and an embellished silver and gold sari by the same designer duo for her sangeet. Priyanka went with couturier who has designed the bridal outfits for many Indian celebrities lately—Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
Priyanka's wedding dress was custom-made, and it took nearly 3,720 hours and 110 embroiderers from Kolkata to create the hand-cut organza flowers, French knots in silk floss and layers of thread work. As requested by Priyanka Chopra, the names of her now-husband, Nick Jonas and her parents, Ashok and Madhu Chopra, were sewn into the waistband of her skirt in Hindi as well.“I always knew I wanted a red traditional silhouette for my wedding, but Sabya brought in incredible French embroidery to the mix, and with incredible jewellery and Western-inspired veil, it was just such an amalgamation of who I am,” Priyanka Chopra told People.Picture credit: Instagram
