New Delhi, Oct 25 : Two elderly women were found dead at their house in outer Delhi's Paschim Vihar area, police said on Thursday.
The victims, who were sisters, were in their 70s, police said.
Police received a call between 4 to 5pm that two women were found dead in their house, police said.
"Prima facie it seems like one was bludgeoned as she has injuries on her head and the second one was strangled. There is no evidence of forcible entry and it seems like the alleged accused would be known to the victims," said Seju Kuruvilla, deputy commissioner of police.
The deceased sisters were unmarried and used to live together at Paschim Vihar. Their relatives, who live in Faridabad and Uttar Pradesh, were informed, Kuruvilla added. Usha was the elder sister and she worked as a librarian at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi and Asha was a music teacher in a college in Uttar Pradesh.
The post-mortem will be conducted on Friday and the bodies will be handed over to the relatives, the DCP said.
