Delhi-Mumbai in 12 hours: Final trial of super-fast Talgo today

New Delhi: The final trial of super-fast train Talgo will take place today.  The trial will determine whether the Spanish- made light coach train will be able to cut down Delh-Mumbai travel time by 4 hours to under 12 hours. Currently, Delhi-Mumbai Rajdhani takes about 16 hours Talgo train consists of  9 coaches and can  hit a speed of 200 km/hour.

Today Talgo is scheduled to leave New Delhi  at 2:45pm and reach Mumbai  in 11:45 hours . The train is likely to run at a speed of 150km/hour. In earlier trials the train has not been able to hit the expected speed.  The Railways will analyse the trial results before taking a decision on buying Talgo coaches. However, if  the Railways decides to buy light-weight coaches, bids will invited from other makers of light-weight coaches
