New Delhi, Nov 16: The Padmavati controversy is now taking an ugly turn with death threats to the film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali' and chopping nose of Deepika Padukone issued by Karni Sena.
What started as a protest by a group to oppose the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmavati, as the group claims, the movie shows the Rajput queen in poor light, is now turning uut to be a question of life and death.
Mahipal Singh Makrana of Rajput Karni Sena, president of Rajasthan unit of the outfit, in a self-made video has threatened Deepika Padukone, who essays the role of Padmavati, openly, "Rajputs never raise a hand on women but if need be, we will do to Deepika what Lakshman did to Shurpanakha."
Members of the Shri Rajput Karni Sena have also threatened to behead Sanjay Leela Bhansali if he proceeds with the release of Padmavati.
Karni Sena is opposing the release of the film and by each passing day and their protest is getting more violent.
